Cameroon based non-governmental organization, Giddis Youth Technology Empowerment Center for Africa, GYTEC-Africa, and the American NGO, Strive2Thrive Edu have signed an agreement aimed at empowering young people in Cameroon.
The partnership between the two organizations was signed on May, 2020 via online. Fur Gilfort Fondzenyuy signed on behalf of GYTEC-Africa while Miran Bhima, Founder and President of Strive2Thrive signed on behalf of his organization.
According to the agreement, the partnership will help Strive2Thrive through GYTEC-Africa to carry on the project dubbed “Online Educational Lessons for Areas in Cameroon.”
Speaking after signing the MoU, Fur Gilfort expressed his happiness stating that the partnership will go a long way to fortify the objectives of GYTEC-Africa.
“I am very happy that today, GYTEC-Africa has turned a new page in its existence by signing a partnership with the American base Strive2Thrive Edu. I want to thank Strive2Thrive Edu and through this partnership, youths will acquire technological & entrepreneurial skills to become innovative problem solvers,” Fur Gilfort said.
To Miran Bhima, “This is a great step towards helping youths. I want to thank GYTEC-Africa for partnering with us. Together, we shall work to improving educational systems and infrastructure in underserved communities through education for all, eliminating poverty and community development.”
While the American based organization will provide teachers and learning materials and hold lessons plans based on the general curriculum, GYTEC-Africa on their part through schools in the community, will ensure participation of students and teachers and support underprivileged students with the required IT infrastructure.
GYTEC-Africa will also monitor and among other things approve the learning material, teachers and lessons as well as behavior and will help in logistics (learning material and certificates).
Courses to be offered will include;
- Photography
- Finance
- Public Speaking
- Business 101 Skills
- Leadership Empowerment and
- Computer Science and Coding (Python, Java and Scratch)
Giddis Youth Technology Empowerment Center for Africa is a nonprofit organization that exists to create opportunities for African young people by fostering an ecosystem where they can acquire technological & entrepreneurial skills to become innovative problem solvers.
